Solid pizza. Good apps. We had the bruschetta which I would rate a 7. Amazing deserts. Actually a good beer menu. Really, a win all around. Prices are insanely low considering the location. Don't miss the opportunity to eat here.

I'm generally weary of theme-based restaurants, as the amount of effort put into the decor and ambiance vs. the food can sometimes be disproportional towards the former...but this is very much not the case (check out the drop floor, you can't miss it). Checked out the menu, checked out the pizza on the outdoor tables, decided this was a solid option. We were given a 45 minute waiting time, meh, no big deal. Took my cell for the "table's up!" text, which came a very real 5 minutes later from a New Jersey based number. Now I know Capone was born in Brooklyn and lived in Chicago, but something about seeing a "201" made this place feel just that much more authentic. Look left, look right, look up, down, upside down. There is a menu hanging everywhere. Since it's not huge, it's legible...so you can ALWAYS be deciding what you want to eat. I was doing my best to manage a craving for a salad a la red wine vinaigrette hours before we ended up here, but that's what I got to start and I fully recommend it. Very simple, much like any similar salad i've had at home. We got one large red and one large white, both with chicken and spinach in addition to the normal toppings. The pizzas checked all the boxes - crust, toppings, sauce, thickness, excellent on all fronts. Washed that down with a few pints of Lagunitas and called it a night. Dinner? Yup. Lunch the next day? Yup. Four slices left that came on the plane with me 3 days later that I proceeded to consume while waiting for my luggage at baggage claim 6 in terminal A of EWR? Yup. Still delicious? YUP.

My friends took me here for lunch and I was amazingly surprised. Great atmosphere and even better pizza. I hope one day to get back there again.

This is one of the best restaurants of the many in downtown Fort Myers! The entire place as well as the staff sticks to the decade theme and you can see your food being made in their coal fire oven. Their quattro formaggi and calzones are the best in town!

Great Chicago style pizza and a great atmosphere. Outstanding service all family around restaurant.

Amazing meat ball dish. The coal fired pizza was awesome and cooked fast. Excellent list of beverages. The price is fair. Atmosphere is old style capone days.

I found this place to have a great atmosphere. This is my second time here and their pizza is excellent and so are the drinks. I would warn you that it did get busy around 6PM Friday night and there must have been a wait for both inside and outside seating. I came in easily about 5:30 and I could have been seated easily, but decided to eat at the bar since I was alone. They had happy hour at the time. I had Kaylee as my bartender and she was great. I recognized her from when She used to work at Ford's Garage next door. Both restaurants are owned by the same company. They had a full stocked bar with everything to 18 year old scotch. Nice place to come with some friends. However, it is not your normal pizza joint so don't expect to pay Pizza Hut prices. ;)

I live downtown and I had a friend meet me for dinner and being in the business for 10 years myself it was very refreshing to see the floor manager come to our table and make sure everything was ok!!! He seemed to know what was going on in all corners of the restaurant. You don't see that much anymore . Kudos to Ken he's s pro...Food Is On Point!!!!

Decor is off the charts! No detail left unturned. Service is really good, today. The prosciutto & arugula pizza special today is spot ON! I'm a local service/quality is hit or miss in this area but these guys know how to run restaurants. They also own Fords Garage, Firestones, Cabo's and who knows what else. The attention to details make these places worth returning too!

Went here on a friends recommendation. So worth it. Everything was delicious. I love spaghetti and meatballs and it was one of the simplest dishes but it had a ton of flavor and was fresh.

  • Geri M.

Some of the best pizza in the area. Pleasantly surprised as my expectations were low given this is one of a growing conglomerate in SWFL. Sometimes big is good.

  • Joselyn S.

They burned our pizza and then cut it off so we wouldn't notice. The cheese tasted cheap. The chicken was dry. Sauce was good and server was nice. We tried the pollo pesto pizza and overall I was not impressed.

  • Antonino G.

OK environment for kids, but the food was not great. We had a caprese salad and the balsamico vinegar was far too sweet and no bread was offered to accompany it. The pizza we had was quite poor. Overall I don't think I will return.

  • Joe L.

Iv eaten here many times and not once have I been upset with the food or drinks. The weekends and during season can get really busy. You might have to wait a bit for a table. But if you do, it will be worth it!

Came here on New Year's Eve. While it was incredibly busy the service was great. Good was good too. Waitress and the Manager were friendly.

  • Kevin G.

Stopped after walking by the place a couple times. Busy Tuesday night but a small wait. Props to them for doing the No Wait app. Service was prompt and attentive. Two of us split a very basic medium pizza. It came promptly. Mushrooms- fresh. Onions-fresh. Sauce was obviously homemade and very fresh and tasty. Pizza was very good! Thin(net) crust was the way I like it. That is the default I think-didn't see another option but wasn't looking. Dalton (server) confirmed that most of any key ingredients are made onsite and fresh. I would go back to try a homemade pasta dish. The place was just a bit loud for my taste but it's a pizza/pasta house. There was a loud-talker at the next table over but that's not on the restaurant, I thought he was just a bit over the top. We will go back.

Loved the ambiance of this place! Great for groups and cool spot to bring out of towners to. I had the margarita pizza and it was good. Wings, not so much. Told the manager and waitress who, eventually, took it off the bill. I probably wouldn't go back unless invited.

  • Kip G.

What can I say we were excited to try the new place in town. Pizza was terrible actually had no cheese on the pizza (none) when I complained to the waitress she said that happens because we use fresh cheese. What??? That makes no sense. Too bad manager could not check on peoples meals. I loved the cooks yelling to the wait staff how they are not dominos, Pizza Hut, or poppa. Johns... I'm not a fan of the big chain pizza but at least they put cheese on the pizza. I would stick to downtown pizza over this place... Unless you don't like pizza.

  • Jason G.

I was hoping that since Capone was a Chicago crime boss, that I might get a little Chicago deep dish down in south Florida. Sadly, I got the typical bowling alley, marinara from a can, nothing fancy, thin crust indigestion.

This was our second visit, We love the atmosphere and decor. The menu selection is very limited, mostly pizza and salad. Tonight we shared an antipasto. It was okay, but the ham was poor quality and should have been prosciutto. The caesar salad was good. Next I had the Coal Fired Wings. They were terrible, undercooked and soggy. My wife had a 12 inch pizza with ricotta cheese added. I tasted it and it I could not force myself to have a second bite. It was undercooked like raw dough. Perhaps the Sunday night chef is not up to the task. I am rooting for this restaurant to do well but they need to revamp the menu, get rid of the wings and learn to make crust is cooked. If I want good pizza I will go one block over to Downtown Pizza.

I had preconceived notions that it would be awful, but it's actually a great place. Pizza is really good with a great selection of fresh toppings.

Capone's pizza was excellent! A perfect balance of toppings, cheese, and sauce. The service that Brandon delivered to us was a perfect 10. He explained to us in detail the pizza of the day and had our drinks refilled before we were done.

My husband and I went for dinner the first Friday after Capone's opened. Music Walk was going on- downtown was on fire. Capone's line for tables was out the door. We stopped to put our name on the list. One of the hostesses was in a verbal tussle with another guest; he was upset because she had advised despite getting the text that their table was ready, their assigned table was given to other guests. TMI. It seemed the biggest challenge the first week was getting the staff trained to manage the volume. We returned after an hour to check on the wait and the frazzled hostess advised our wait would now be another half hour. We walked away a little irritated but received a text within 5 minutes that our table was ready. The manager happened to be at the desk when we were checking in and was able to quickly seat us. I appreciated the good news. I think they will get the kinks worked out as the staff matures. The pizza was good. I'm a Grimaldi's fan- this pizza is a close second. Thin crust, quality ingredients. I would come back for it. The wings were soggy and bland. I recommend avoiding them. The beer, wine and cocktail selection is balanced. Something for everyone. I am not a fan of the costumes. I'd rather the theme was left to the decor- it feels a little contrived. However, I appreciate what the restaurant group has done to revitalize downtown. The affordable, artisan-style pizza was a nice compliment to what downtown has to offer. We will be back and recommend Capone's to anyone wanting to enjoy a nice dinner downtown.

We went for lunch with friends. The food was OK. The décor is neat but to me, it is more of a place for tourist.

First let me say that I am gluten and dairy intolerant...true fact...medical data to prove it. So if I am going to indulge myself foods that I know will wage biological war on my digestive system, it better be worth it. My Veggie Pizza at Capone's was sooo worth it! Thin crust, fresh veggies with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. I picked at my hubby's side salad which was crisp and the dressing was good and not over powering. He ordered his pie with half meatball and half salami and his only complaint was how the meatballs were sliced...flavor wise it was delicious and he ate the whole thing. The Stephen Vincent Pinot Noir was a perfect match for the meal and our server, Dustin, was accommodating but not hovering which made the whole experience very pleasant. About 3/4 of the way through our meal, Lance, the manager stopped by to make sure all was well & to make sure that as new diner's at Capone's all our needs were met and that we enjoyed ourselves enough to return. One of the things I like the most about the restuarant group that has opened Capone's, Firestone's, Ford's Garage, Cabo's Cantina, etc. is their attention to detail when outfitting their restuarants and the staff. When you visit one of their establishments, it isn't just to eat but to also enjoy the unique decor & uniforms in each one.

After trying to wait out the rain on Cinco de Mayo we decided to stop in here for a quick bite to eat, especially since everywhere else was packed. They were doing a cinco de mayo $3 margaritas special and a taco pizza. Our server Venus was fantastic and suggested we get the daily special. So of course we knocked out about 8 of those margaritas and the taco pizza. Wow oh wow that taco pizza was amazing, definitely should add to menu. Overall my dinner and drinks were great thanks Venus for the awesome service!!!

Best fettuccine Alfredo in fort myers! The pasta is made daily, Alfredo sauce is also home made. Out server Dalton was excellant!

This was a great place for lunch! The pizza was good and fresh, the rigatoni a la vodka was good, not great, but good. I have had some great ones in my time. I'm a Long Island italian so I'm hyper critical of italian American food. Price was good and our waitress was wonderful. Three stars simply for how long it took for the food to come out and flavor. I will go back, for sure. I've already recommended it.

My daughter and I went on a Monday evening to check this place out. She had patronized the place a couple of times with friends and she couldn't say enough about it, so I went to check it out. The theme was cool, the wait-staff were friendly and efficient. Dustin was our server and he was knowledgeable and friendly. They added to the fun theme as they were dressed like gangsters and flappers. They were all smiles and professional and seemed to enjoy their jobs. We ordered the Quattro Formaggio (4 cheese white pizza) with added fresh roasted garlic and it was delicious. Also the Caesar Salad (dressing) and Caprese Capone were also great. I would recommend to others especially because of it's location in the Downtown River District that can be enjoyed before or after dining. Next trip I plan to try the desserts and coffee drinks. Fun atmosphere for Ft. Myers and prices are reasonable. I will patronize again.

Great food and a great location in Historic Downtown Fort Myers. Fabulous pizza, fresh pasta and salads. Nice atmosphere, good service at fair prices. Have been here several times with family and never disappointed.

Highly disappointed, I ordered a personal pizza and the pizza sauce tasted like canned tomatoe sauce, (very acidic) and the cheese tasted like packaged generic cheese. I will never eat there again.

I'm italian and frankly am insulted with how these clowns are making money off of cultural associations. Why not Hitler's House of Schnitzel? Or African American Fried Chicken? These clowns even put machine guns on the door handles!!!! The triggers actually make shooting noises! I had the pizza last night. The crust is a joke. Nothing even close to real pizza. If you want real pizza, just go down two blocks and get a few slices from Downtown Pizza - just as good as any you find in New York. If you want a a different theme and have nothing better to do, give these people your money. If you want real food at descent prices, please go somewhere else. Here's a good rule -; any place which needs to have a theme is making up for the fact that the food is lousy. The food should be the theme.

  • Claudia V.

Two meatballs and bruschetta good. Calzone ok- not enough ricotta. Happy hour cab ok. Multipulciano wine ok. Wine glasses- unacceptable. I sat at a table. Bar looked nice and would have been better. Too noisy for me but typical of this group. It's like going to a smaller version of the Orlando themed restaurants which is what the creators are going for. If you want better Italian food, go to Sasse's on Evans, Cibo on Mcgregor and College, or get Giovanni's on McGregor to go for straight up pizza and calzone. I'd send you to Grimaldi's in bell tower where the food is better than capones, but their service is consistently unacceptable. Capones- please get decent wine glasses. You are an Italian restaurant with a prohibition theme. Go see Ben at sob if you want to know what a decent, commercial wine glass is that wont break, etc.

We have eaten here four times. The food has been pretty good but the service has not. Last time our pizza was missing the main ingredient- sausage. The server hardly served us. When we informed her of the missing ingredient she said sorry. It was an insincere sorry and there was no discount on the bill. Upon leaving I asked for the manager or the manager's email. The hostess pointed across toward a business card then turned her back on me. I wrote the manager and he never replied. Very unprofessional and apparently he has trained the staff with the same unprofessional attitude. Never going back. Beware! They don't seem to want return business or only want to cater to tourists not locals.

Ok, goofy Capone vault in the floor aside, everything was well done. Joined some friends for a snack / lunch. Bruschetta was well seasoned and very tasty, meatballs were a tad salty, but a nice ball of fresh ricotta balanced the dish, and they were tender and tasted like a meatball should. Caesar salad was chilled and served on a chilled plate. Amazing how lots of places miss that. house salad was delicious with a balsamic vinaigrette, and olives, and chick peas, tomato, etc. None of the salads were overdressed, and were fresh and crisp. Careful when ordering. The small is pretty big. I hear the pizza is delicious. I saw it, which made me want to order it, but my wife saw me see it, so that was the end of that maneuver. I'd go back

    (4)
  • Frank S.

It was a disappointment. Ordered the big al's meatball sandwich which was just ok and house salad was good but the forks could not even spear the lettuce. Between my self and my husband we had four forks. I was told Barq's root bear was available and when it came there was not much root beer flavor. The waitress was told and her response was it was Barq's.

Mediocre at best. I love caprese salads and this one did not taste great to me. Also, as a waitress I've spent hours polishing silverware, and could tell our utensils were not done. Probably went through dish but still very dirty! Not my best pizza/Italian experience.

    (3)

Probably the worst pizza I've ever eaten. It was cooked improperly and tasted even worse. Better off cooking a frozen pizza at home.

  • Oliver L.

My wife and I split a salad and Margerita pizza. The salad was fine. Vegetables seemed fresh enough. The pizza was ok as well. I liked the crust, but the tomatoes seemed canned and not nearly enoug cheese(and I generally don't like too much cheese). The prices are not bad at all considering it is downtown. They also have a couple interesting beers on draft. Service was fine, and the place is cool. I wouldn't make it a destination, but may stop back if I am hungry and downtown.

  • Candido R.

I had the personal pizza with meatball and pepperoni toppings. The place is nicely decorated with a 20's theme. The staff was nice and our order did not take long. The pizza was very good. My only complaints are portion size and price. I paid 7.99 for a 9 inch personal. Wish it could have been a little bigger.

We had a wonderful meal at Capones last night. Our server Brandon was great... He was friendly, helpful and his personality fit perfectly with the atmosphere. We ordered two different pizzas and both were delicious. We look forward to having many enjoyable evenings there.

Two words: "Seems legit". Well, it's "been legit since 2014"... says part of the slogan of the establishment. Imagine you're back in the roaring 20s and need a chill place to go. Your stomach is hungry and you want a low key meal where the atmosphere allows you ample room to partake in "classic Italian" food.. just like the boys back home used to make... after watching their mama for half their life. Enter Capone's, a coal fired pizza joint. Sure, they have salads and pasta, but the thin crust pizza pie is all the rage. Prices seem competitive for all entrees and the service is quick. Vegetable pizza (medium) is big enough that 3 people were able to share it with no problem. Throw in a medium house salad and you're looking around to make sure there won't be nobody watching you... cos you're about to feed everyone with this bowl. One of the people I went with, had a craving for the Chicken Pesto sandwich. This was after she ate 3 pieces of pizza and half the salad. Was she satisfied? If I told you she literally ate half the sammy before asking to take the rest home, would you break my knuckles? The cool thing about this place? The center piece. Rather, the drop floor in the center of the room. It's a clear plexiglass floor that looks down into a vault. A set of stairs (like 4 steps or so) would take someone right down into what would be a hideout office. This vault is deep enough that there is a desk with (fake) money strewn all around it. Some is on the stairs, some on the floor. An ashtray with big ol fatty cigars are on a corner of the desk. A skeleton is hanging out in a corner, with his spats next to him. Who is this, and why was he so comfortable he took his shoes off? Is this his hideout? Is that his money? Who knows. The only thing I can say, is next time I'm back in the downtown area, I'm heading into Capone's for another round!

Over rated for sure!! Rob, our waiter, was fun, for the most part. Caprese appetizer was weak until we asked for more balsamic vinegar glaze. And then hard, plastic-like chunks in the last 2 tomatoes. As I was telling Rob about the Caprese problem, a busser came up to Rob, started an obvious social conversation, at which point, Rob turned around and went another table. Chalk it up to immature waiter, I guess. Entree comes out, both pasta dishes are very al dante. One sent back, eventually returning with fresh, and still not cooked properly, but tired of waiting. All in all, food overpriced for the quality, overpriced drinks, although entertaining, service was lacking and the dismissive attitude towards me while I was talking is unacceptable. We will try the pizza, but probably carry out.

This place was good, upon arrival staff was very friendly and prompt, drinks arrived a little late but service and food time overcame that. :) the location is great. If you sit outside you will get quite a pretty view from beautiful downtown historical buildings. I wll go back.

Located in Dowtown Ft. Myers surrounded by other cute little shops.... Ambiance: A seemingly family friendly place, themed like 30's mobsters times. Wait staff are dressed like mobsters or flappers, respectively. Food: Delicious, thin crust wood fired pizza. Very straight up. Well executed. Beverage: Bonus points for fresh craft beer! Staff: Very attentive, polite staff. Overall: A very returnable place.

So we just had dinner at Capone's. we arrived there after 9.30 (they close at 10) and were a party of 7. The friendly hostess said this was not a problem and we can take our time, they would still serve us. We had Pizza, Calzone, House Salad and Mozarella. One of our friends even lives in Italy and we have been there many times. We all agreed that the food was amazing! Everything was on the table within 10 min and Brian our servicer was super friendly too. We definitely recommend this place to everybody who likes really good pizza, which is made Italian style (thin crust not overloaded with stuff). If you have salad order the dressing on the side like we did. Will come back soon to try the homemade pasta!

  • Luis M.

The theme is cool, with a speak-easy vibe and assorted décor--not to mention the prison-themed bathroom that was, nevertheless, very clean. The place gets packed during the weekend, but the staff gets distracted and overwhelmed...so much so that my very shy seven-year-old niece spoke up to the server to remind her she had nothing to drink. This was after she had patiently waited for a refill for a good bit. One tip may be to buy clear plastic cups for kids, rather than styrofoam, so that you can see when the rug rats need a refill. The kids enjoyed the pizza and the adults enjoyed the sandwich and adult beverages. One pitfall of the coal burning is that the pasta winds up having a smoky taste too, which works with some sauces better than others. I would recommend avoiding cross-contamination of the pasta with the coal to the extent possible, as the taste is overpowering and negatively impacts the other flavors. Overall it was decent and the staff was friendly, but there is still some room for improvement.

We absolutely loved the pizza. I'm Italian, originally from New Haven, Ct. The Wooster St. area in New Haven has been recently rated as one of the top 10 places in the country to get a great pizza and this pizza rates amount the best of any pizza on Wooster St. It's the type of pizza that I grew up on. My hat is off to the owner(s) for bringing real pizza to Ft. Myers even if some of the local don't appreciate it. Great crust, fresh ingredients, great sauce and good service. I thought the prices were reasonable. The only thing missing for me that day was a white clam pie, although I was told they do offer it on occasion as a special. We will definitely be back. It would be great to have a Capone's next to the Ford's Garage in Estero.

I have been to Capones quite a few times. I love the food and the atmosphere. The Veggia is my favorite since I am a vegetarian and the pizzas are awesome!!! I would like to mention one of their servers Julia. She has waited on me even when I'm not in her station, at my request. Very personable, friendly, and attentive.

My daughter and I visited Capone's while on vacation in Fort Myers. We found the menu full of great choices, but after seeing some of the delicious looking pizza on other people's tables we had to order one. Our waitress was friendly and delivered our food with a smile. The pizza was very good and I'm glad we went with our choice. There is something about pizza made in a coal fired oven that makes it taste so good and I'm glad we found Capone's. We enjoyed the ambiance, the food and the staff were great. I even spoke to Bill the manager to let him know we had a great time. We hope to make it back before we leave. P. S ~the chocolate mousse was the best.

Horrendous service.. Not happy at all, walked in tonight around 7, hostess sat us, and waited 10 mins no one even came up to us to greet us or take a drink order. We already knew what we wanted to eat, the female manager looked right at me smiled and walked the opposite direction. Then it took us walking past 3 more employees including the manager herself before the hostess realized as we were already outside that we had not been served. Will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Had a late lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Sat at a table in the "alley". Three of us shared a vegetarian pizza and my son had a meatball sandwich. Both were excellent. The coal fired pizza results in a nice crust. The meatballs were tasty, and more than enough for my growing boy! As others noted, the Capone theme is fun, but not overdone. Loved the machine gun handles on the entrance doors!

Antipasto pizza was excellent as was the homemade Spinach fettucini with shrimp. Love how they serve a rock candy sugar stick and lemon with the expresso. Make sure you go hungry.

We had the meatballs and caprese salad for appetizers. They were both good. Then we shared the Giambertino pizza. It was a really good. The flavors all went together and the lobster aioli was a great touch. Service was good, but the noise level in this restaurant is unbearable. It was only my husband and I, and he asked me to repeat every thing I said. I can't imagine if there were more than the 2 of us at the table.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
